Let’s talk about using testimonial videos as reels on Instagram.

The first thing to know is that no one is using them, like you’ll see below.

Normally, people will just post up the testimonial video and maybe add a little content in the caption. That’s about it.

But before you see how to do them differently than this, we have to dive in a bit on what is working with reels.

One of the “popular” things are those super short videos that have text on them.

But they’re so damn short that sometimes it’s hard to read all the text in those few seconds.

And if the video doesn’t loop for some reason, you’ll have to hit the “watch again” button 15 more times to read it all.

Or screenshot the text.

And it makes sense why creators do this.

The more times you watch the video, the higher the view count.

And the algorithms like these things.

There is also another way creators have “gamed” Instagram.

Instead of the creator pasting all the text on the video, they tell you in those few seconds to read the caption or description.

Which means you have to click on the text at the bottom of the video.

Again, the algorithm likes this because you are clicking on something, which tells it that you are interested.

Another way creators have gamed Instagram and Facebook Reels to get more engagement is…

They post a video (or text) that has some other piece of useful content that you can access by typing a specific phrase in the comments.

For example, a creator shares a video that talks about 5 ways to get high-quality leads.

If the viewer wants another 5 ways to generate those leads, all they have to do is type in “leads” in the comment section, and they get sent that bonus content.

This gets viewers to comment.

Which the algorithm loves and results in the video being shown more.

Now, with all this being said…

There is one thing you don’t see.

You don’t see anyone applying these strategies with testimonials.

Which is a mistake.

Let’s Talk About How To Create Testimonial Videos As Reels

There are a bunch of ways to make this work, so let’s start with the simplest one first.

Version 1 – This doesn’t use a testimonial video in Instagram. That comes later. So what you want to do is create a short video of you talking about your client’s biggest result, and then tell the viewer to click the caption to see how they did it. You can overlay text as well on your video, telling them to click the caption for more info.

In the caption, you write out the clients basic testimonial story.

Then, for a call to action, you tell them if they want results like this; click the link in your bio, which goes to some sort of contact page, opt-in page, or it is at this point you send them the client’s testimonial video.

Version 2 – Get a quick video clip of your client saying something like “I was able to (insert biggest result) at (insert name of your business).” If you want to see how I did it, click the caption below. The CTA can be the same as version one, or in the caption section you tell them to DM you.

Version 3 – This is the same as version 2, except have your client tell the viewer to leave a comment with a specific phrase, and you will DM the viewer the client’s full testimonial video.

Something Like This…

There are a lot of variations of these, and I can go on and on with them.

But these are a few simple and different ways to create and use testimonials as reels on Instagram.

So if you use Instagram, consider these strategies and see what happens.

Oh, and I can get all the testimonials for this and the clips for your reels. If you’re interested in that, click the button below.
